What Else You Should Know

How Overdraft Programs Work

  • If on any day the available funds in your Checking Account are not sufficient to cover checks, ACH transactions, card transactions, or other covered transactions posted to your account, those items will be handled in accordance with the respective services your account is enrolled in and eligible to use. If we do not pay an item, we will return it as unpaid and you will not be assessed a fee.
  • If there are insufficient funds in your Checking Account to pay an item, we will first look to any accounts you have linked for Overdraft Protection first. These can include any Savings, Checking, or other Deposit Accounts you are an owner of. There is no fee for automatic transfers from these accounts. You can also designate a Rogue CU Visa Credit Card, HELOC, or other line of credit you are an owner of. The product may charge a fee, and interest will begin accruing on the date of the covered transfer. Refer to your specific credit agreement for all applicable fees, charges, and details. You may designate the order in which accounts are used for this service.
  • We pay checks, ACH transactions, card transactions, and all other items in the order in which they are presented to us for payment, regardless of when you issued or authorized them.

Eligibility and Limits

  • You become eligible for use of the Courtesy Pay services on the day following 6 months of membership with us unless you have previously opted out. Your Courtesy Pay limit is determined by a number of factors and will be communicated to you at the time of eligibility. Your limit will cover and pay any items received and honored, exclusive of any fees, up to that limit. If your Courtesy Pay limit is met or exceeded, any further items will be returned unpaid and without assessing a returned item fee.
  • To be eligible for use of the service, the account must not be continuously overdrawn for more than 32 consecutive days, or any loans associated with the account owner may not be past due for greater than 21 days. If you become ineligible due to continuous overdraft or past due loan, and meet all other eligibility criteria, the service will be restored to you on the day after the deficiency is cured. Additionally, you must be 18 years or older to enroll into the Courtesy Pay service. Failure to cure an overdrawn account within 45 days may result in account closure and reporting to consumer reporting agencies.
  • Eligibility may be revoked at any time and for any reason, including continual consecutive days of maintaining an overdrawn balance and account abuse.
  • Overdraft Coverage is a discretionary program, and enrollment in any covered service does not guarantee that any or all items will be paid by it.
